Exhibits:

The Science Station features over 100 hands-on exhibits on a variety of topic including electricity, magnets, sound, light, optical illusions, flight, computers, dinosaurs, bubbles, the human body, heat, simple machines, and the solar system. The exhibits are challenging and fun for any age or science background. The museum has over 12,000 square feet of exhibit space and visitors can spend over 2 hours exploring the collection.

Early Scientists Exploration Zone:

The Lower Level Gallery has a focus for Pre-K children. Children can  experience the wonder of bubbles and the excitement of water and its properties on the Iowa Precision Water Table. In addition, the basement features a climbing wall, puppet theatre, and construction house.

Genencor Gallery:

The Genencor Gallery houses the International Space (Science) Station. An entrance portal and knee wall, reminiscent of space movies, greets visitors. The new Science Station Space Theater holds three flat-screen monitors with programs and video from space.  Astro Bulletins provide regular video updates on space; View Space consists of downloads from a variety of space telescopes, including the Hubble; and Lights at Night offers views of the Earth showing comparisons of light density from 1993-2000.  Come manipulate the joy stick and zoom in on your part of the Earth!

Alliant Gallery:

The Alliant Gallery hosts the Bridge of Fire, a giant static-electricity exhibit that makes your hair stand on end! Joining the Bridge of Fire are other hands-on exhibits featuring magnets, circuits, levers, pulleys and the earthquake table!

Rockwell Gallery:

Ever wondered what it takes to be a meteorologist?  How the weathermen make maps move on TV?  A new weather exhibit is being planned for the Science Station.  Meanwhile, the Upper Level Gallery provides a variety of science exhibits dealing with our senses and perceptions.
